About the Webinar

From shifting trade policies and rising tariffs to inflation, supply chain instability, and interest rate fluctuations, today’s economic climate is forcing HR professionals to recalibrate how they plan, hire, compensate, and retain talent.

Join David Campbell for a timely and practical session that bridges economic trends with workforce realities. This national webinar will unpack how macroeconomic forces are reshaping HR functions—and what strategic responses HR teams can adopt to stay agile, resilient, and competitive.

Through real-world insights and interactive discussion, participants will leave better equipped to turn economic volatility into a workforce opportunity.

We will consider the impact on specific industries (direct) and potential downstream impacts. Further, the session will summarize what is being done and other opportunities to minimize the impacts such as boosting interprovincial trade.

The session will also consider the implications of the broader move towards nationalism in Canada, the United States and beyond on a variety of fronts (trade, investment, immigration, etc.) and its implications for a highly trade dependent nation such as Canada.

Learning Objectives:

  • Current status of the ongoing U.S tariff and trade challenges
  • Impacts of tariffs by province and by industry
  • Potential solutions in Canada to combat the tariffs
  • Provincial trade barriers removed and impacts (good and bad)
  • Broader concerns related to increasing nationalism/populism and its impact on the economy and workforce

Who should attend:
Most HR professionals will be impacted by the trade challenges.
