The success of CPHR Saskatchewan is largely due to the contributions made by volunteers through our many volunteer committees. The current committee and the mandates of each committee can be seen below:
REGULATORY COMMITTEES Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) The Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) receives and investigates written complaints from the general public, members, or the organization itself, that a member has committed professional incompetence, misconduct or breach of legislative requirements. The PCC will have a maximum of 7 members. Members are appointed to terms of a minimum of 2 years to a maximum of 6 years. PCC members shall not be a member of the CPHR Saskatchewan Board of Directors or the Discipline Committee. For more information on the role of the PCC, please see the Terms of Reference. Requirements:
Discipline Committee (DC) The role of the Discipline Committee (DC) is to conduct discipline hearings and make determinations relating to matters of professional misconduct and professional incompetence, and where guilt is determined, to exercise any of the powers granted in the Bylaws and issue Orders which specify the sanctions including but not limited to reprimand, fine, suspension or revocation of designation imposed on the member. The DC will have a minimum of 7 members, 1 of whom shall be a public appointee or public representative. Members are appointed to terms of a minimum of 2 years to a maximum of 6 years. No member of the PCC is eligible to be appointed a member of the DC. For more information on the role of the DC, please see the Terms of Reference. Requirements:
OPERATIONAL COMMITTEES Validation of Experience (VOE) Committee Ensures that Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) Candidate members and those approved for the Senior Pathway meet the requirements and standards to obtain the CPHR designation. The work of this committee involves reviewing VOE applications three times per year with intake dates of April 30, August 30 and November 30. The work of this committee is deadline driven and can be extensive depending on the number of applications received. The majority of the work occurs two to five weeks after the intake date. Information regarding the VOE process can be found on our website. The VOE Committee will have a minimum of 5 members and a maximum of 15 members. Members are appointed to terms of a minimum of 2 years to a maximum of 6 years. CPHRs receive CPD hours for their time on this committee. Professional Development (PD) Committee Identifies and evaluates learning sessions (aligned to the CPHR Competency Framework) and speakers for professional development events, including the Annual Conference. The PD Committee will have a minimum of 3 members and a maximum of 8 members. Members are appointed to terms of a minimum of 2 years to a maximum of 6 years. Mentorship Committee Leads and oversees all initiatives related to the CPHR Saskatchewan Professional Mentorship Program. This includes program development, matching mentors and proteges based on skills, goals, and compatibility; providing training and resources to support program participants to ensure successful relationships, and coordinating events and networking opportunities to foster a supportive community. The committee ensures that the program runs smoothly and effectively, offering value to all participants. The Mentorship Committee will have a minimum of 5 members and a maximum of 11 members.
