About the Event

*The Workplace Investigation Certificate training is a prerequisite to this workshop.

This workshop is the practical extension of the interviewing module in the Workplace Investigations Training Certificate program. A successful investigation interview requires planning, learned skills and tips, focus and excellent communication skills. This day is filled with mini-scenarios and practice opportunities.

Learning outcomes include:

1. Understand the current theories and principles of investigation interviewing
2. Application of techniques and theory through several mock interview scenarios throughout the day
3. Review of case law and jurisprudence related to interview versus interrogation tactics
4. Interviewing best practices, designed to elicit maximum information
5. Ethical considerations
6. Landmines and pitfalls to avoid

About the Speaker
Bob Stenhouse is the CEO and Founder of Veritas Solutions, a third-party investigation and training firm conducting over 300 administrative/workplace investigations a year. Bob has been conducting, case managing and overseeing serious and complex investigations for 40 years. In addition to his former police investigation career, almost twenty of those years have been in the workplace/HR, regulatory, and human rights fields. Bob has partnered with the CPHR associations in western Canada for the past 4 plus years, developing and delivering the high in demand Workplace Investigations Training, and its complementary extensions of Investigation Interviewing, Report Writing, and Conducting Credibility Assessments.
