Webinar Descriptions:

The Future of Workplace Mental Health
COVID-19 has further emphasized the need for organizations to solidify their mental health strategy. But what does that look like in the post-COVID-19 workplace? In the first of 4 webinars in November with headversity, Dr. Ryan Todd, Psychiatrist and CEO will cover how to future-proof your organization’s mental health strategy and what leading indicators that business leaders can focus on to be proactive instead of reactive.

How to Build Psychological Skills on the HR Frontline
Is the spike in workplace mental health conversations weighing on you? COVID-19 has brought on a stress epidemic and HR professionals have had to deal with a growing volume of mental health conversations with distressed employees. In this session, Dr. Ryan Todd provides a psychological skill-building masterclass in how to safely and effectively have the mental health conversation when called upon.

Compassion Fatigue in HR
This session will cover the toll of the COVID-19 pandemic on HR professionals from dealing with elevated employee stress levels. Dr. Ryan Todd calls this compassion fatigue, and he will cover what this means and the normalcy of feeling this fatigue in an HR position. Dr. Todd will also cover the growing burden of having ‘the mental health conversation’ at work and give HR professionals a framework he calls the C.A.R.E model, along with self-care suggestions to help HR professionals manage their personal mental well-being.

Building A Culture of Inclusion and Empowerment
One of the many positives that’s come from the Black Lives Matter movement is it’s magnified the inequalities of marginalized populations in the workplace, including, but not limited to, those discriminated by gender, race and/or sexual orientation. In this session Dr. Ryan Todd will cover the importance of acknowledging and decentering privilege in your organization, featuring a special guest interview with Imadé Nibokun Borha, founder of Depressed While Black, and an award-winning journalist that’s been featured in VICE, Forbes, and the Huffington Post, and many more. The session will also cover steps in how to get started and how to enforce and educate during the important transition to building diversity & inclusion in your organization.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Ryan Todd is a psychiatrist and recently converted technologist, founding the workplace mental health and resilience app, headversity. His work at headversity brought together a team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and educators to build an industry-redefining app that is setting the new standard for workplace mental health, working with some of North America’s largest and leading employers.  Dr. Todd is also an award-winning documentarian, a Top 40 under 40 recipient with Avenue Magazine, a published researcher, and the host of the popular HR podcast, “Beyond the Checkbox”.  Through headversity, Dr. Todd envisions shifting mental health out of the back-logged system and into employees’ hands through personal resilience training.
