Event Summary

Indigenous participation in the trades offers a win–win for communities and employers. Yet barriers remain — from access and retention to certification and cultural safety. This session explores how to create sustainable pathways for Indigenous apprentices and tradespeople, and how to align your recruitment with real community needs.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn what supports Indigenous apprentices and journeypersons need to succeed
  • Explore partnerships with training providers, unions, and Indigenous communities
  • Understand how to align workforce development with Indigenous-led goals
