EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Two Year Term (October 2017-2019)
It is time for the Nominating Committee of CPHR Saskatchewan to receive and consider Expressions of Interest from members to serve on the Association’s Board of Directors.
The Nominating Committee will be preparing and recommending a slate of candidates to be presented to the membership at the upcoming AGM for the position(s) of Director.
If you wish to indicate interest, or suggest the name of another member for consideration, please contact Nicole Norton Scott, Executive Director at firstname.lastname@example.org
Interested members should submit their Expression of Interest complete with a cover letter, stating reasons why you should be considered, and how you meet the expectations and criteria detailed within CPHR Saskatchewan Director duties (below).
Expressions of Interest/Nominations are to be submitted by
Friday July 28, 2017.
The proposed slate of candidates will be provided to the membership by Tuesday September 5, 2017 for ratification at the AGM in Saskatoon on Tuesday, October 3 @ 12:00 PM at Prairieland Park.

CPHR Saskatchewan Directors' Duties
CPHR Saskatchewan shapes the evolution of the Human Resources profession to serve the public interest and our members by building credibility, creating collaborative partnerships with stakeholders, establishing standards for the profession and supporting professional learning and development.
The focus for the CPHR Saskatchewan Board is to foster public confidence in the HR profession by acting in the public interest and promoting professional excellence.
Board Director Expectations
• Proactively act as ambassadors for the Association and the profession within the HR and broader business community.
• Lead the evolution of people practices that have a significant impact on organizations.
• Define what constitutes value for our provincial Association, the public, and our members and ensure value is delivered.
• Demonstrate interest in the process of self-regulation, elevating the HR profession, and protection of the public interest.
• Ensure that effective internal systems are in place to support and achieve the Association's strategic objectives.
• Prepare for and actively participate in Board and Committee meetings.
• Understanding of the Association and be a leader in the human resources profession.
• Established in both the business and/or HR communities with a proven track record of contribution.
• Demonstrate leadership and commitment to high ethical standards.
• Ability to contribute to a strategic Board, and build relationships with key external stakeholders.
• Understanding and experience working on a Governance Board would be as asset.
• Legislative & Governmental Process Understanding would be an asset.
• Ability to devote the necessary time and commitment to the Association.
• Preference for the CPHR designation.
