Session Description:

In today’s current economic environment, HR professionals are increasingly faced with the need to make sound and rapid decisions in times of uncertainty. This coincides with a trend towards using prescriptive analytics and evidence-based HR to refocus the effectiveness of human capital across their organizations.

As the focus on cost cutting brought on by the current economic environment persists, so will the opportunity for HR to demonstrate the value of workforce analytics. By using the right data, at the right time, analytics are giving HR practitioners the insights they need to maintain alignment with rapidly shifting priorities, reassess outputs, such as productivity, and reposition their people accordingly.

The value of data-driven HR practices is becoming increasingly evident in light of findings that suggest commonplace practices such as layoffs are short-sighted and produce undesirable outcomes, such as inflated salaries and overuse of contractors. As such, it is critical that HR practitioners adopt a more evidence-based approach to address the increasingly complex people-related issues that impact organizational success.

By empowering HR to understand their business drivers and success metrics in a quantitative way, workforce analytics are enabling the HR function to make critical workforce planning decisions using an evidence-based approach.

Attend this session to learn how organizations such as Coca-Cola, SAS, Royal Dutch Shell, and RBC are using evidence to bridge the gap between short-term operational and long-term strategic workforce issues, and open doors to new people strategies that impact their bottom lines.
