New CPHR Brand Unveiled
We are excited to announce that today across Canada, the new Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) brand is being launched.
We see this is another step forward in our mission to advance the HR profession here in Saskatchewan and across Canada. The SAHRP and the member associations across the country have worked diligently to develop a look and a tone that reflects our profession as impactful, high-value, trustworthy business leaders. We feel the new brand reflects well on our profession and we hope that everyone will take the opportunity to share it with employers, colleagues, family and friends and help raise awareness about the value that HR brings to our work and our communities.
The profession, and therefore all CPHR designated members in Canada, are now officially represented nationally by the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Canada (CPHR Canada). Here in Saskatchewan, your membership, your designation and the advancement of the HR profession remains the focus and responsibility of the SAHRP.
To coincide with the new designation name (launched October 12, 2016) and the new brand being launched today, the SAHRP Board would like you, as our members, to consider an association name change for the SAHRP. The Board proposes the name of our association be changed to “Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Saskatchewan” to help reinforce the new designation name and brand. Over the coming months we will be seeking your formal support as members of the Association to legally change the name. Nationally, over the next year, all member associations of CPHR Canada plan to change their association names to represent themselves consistently. There is great unity and strong brand presence for members, organizations, and the public in having an association name reflective of the designation name. Since one of our most strategic goals as an association is to help protect the public interest, it is of paramount importance that the public and employers recognize the CPHR brand and the inherent competence and professionalism associated with it.
Effective immediately, the SAHRP will begin to operate and brand itself as CPHR Saskatchewan in our materials and website. Formally and legally, we remain the SAHRP until such time as membership votes to support the legal name change to Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Saskatchewan, which we hope will occur in the coming months. We want to hear from you and engage in dialogue. Stay tuned for an upcoming Webinar for you to participate with the Board and the Executive Director.
We are continuing to advance the profession through our existing conference and professional development opportunities, our professional recognition of HR Excellence and Leadership Awards, and our continuing progress toward self-regulation.
A targeted communication campaign to raise awareness of CPHRs among business leaders and the public will be launched in March. For a full look at the brand and its development, click here. Over the next few weeks we will be launching a newly designed website, email addresses and other marketing materials. For our members who are CPHRs, your new certificates and pins will be sent to you after a decision is made with respect to our association name.
We would love to hear your feedback about the CPHR brand and potential association name change. Please send your comments to myself at email@example.com and/or Nicole Norton Scott, Executive Director at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to more momentum and shared success throughout 2017. Have a wonderful day!
